Job description
Westminster Kingsway College are looking for an experienced and inspirational Lecturer in Performing Arts, able to teach acting and direct college productions.
The successful candidate(s) will need to be suitably qualified and experienced to teach UAL Level 3 courses. Experience as a professional within the industry would be preferable. A PGCE or other
teaching qualification is essential.
Westminster Kingsway College has a longstanding tradition of excellent results with students progressing onto courses at specialised conservatoires, universities and working as professionals within the industry. We have built links with The National Theatre Connections, The Soho Theatre, The Donmar Warehouse, Bloomsbury Festival, Camden Young Peoples’ Theatre, Young Actors’ Theatre, Islington. We are a linked college to Rose Bruford. We are looking for a person to sustain and nurture these important relationships.
As a college, we deliver outstanding teaching and learning to achieve the best outcomes possible for our learners. We focus on instilling excellent subject knowledge underpinned by independent rehearsal, regular group and independent performances that provide relevant work-related experience. Personalised target setting whilst working to clear communicated assessment objectives is integral.
There is a well-equipped, fully rigged, commercial grade theatre. Our other spaces include a dance studio, performance studio rehearsal, recording and group performance spaces that provide an open access resource by all performing arts students in the department and cross college.
All successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure.
