About the role:
You will be responsible for the professional Leadership and Management of the Vocational Employability department at the College. To liaise with internal and external organisations as authorised by the Head of Employability and Trade Union Education, to ensure the effective and efficient recruitment and guidance of learners. To assist in the leadership and management of the School, including the marketing, curriculum and business planning processes. To assist in the development planning and the construction of the School's course portfolio. To ensure the implementation of the various College policies designed to provide outstanding support and skills development for learners. To co-ordinate and advise on the production of high quality course materials, including schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment schedules and learning materials. To set and monitor course targets for attendance, retention, attainment and progression of learners. Manage and develop self and own performance. Maintain and develop team and individual performance. Build and maintain productive working relationships.
The role is to manage the offsite delivery for the college. You will manage the existing provision in South and East London but also develop a new provision outside London in Luton. You will need to have extensive knowledge in developing new curriculum and be well versed with the new OFSTED framework. We are looking for someone to help lead on new projects in this very exciting phase of growth for the department. You will also manage Functional Skills in the workplace in and around London. The role is currently a permanent post and will include travel to Luton and pan London.
About you:You will have appropriate experience and qualifications reflecting a strong background in delivering Employability programmes and Functional Skills. You will have a teaching qualification or the commitment to undertake one during the first term of the contract. You will have a history of teaching on Employability programmes up to Level 3 to a high standard, with personal/group tutoring experience. You must have the ability to communicate with students and to motivate and support them in their studies. Travelling to different sites will be an essential part of the role in monitoring and managing your team, therefore a driver is preferable.
